5 Amazing Activities On The Gold Coast For Families

5 Amazing Gold Coast Activities For Families

There are few Australian holiday destinations more popular with families than Queensland’s beautiful Gold Coast.

And it’s no surprise!

The weather is superb year-round and there is no shortage of fun and family-friendly things to do. So if you’re looking for activities on the Gold Coast, read on to discover five of the best.

1. Beach Day

No trip to the sunny Gold Coast is complete without a day at the beach! Making the most of the endless sunshine is easy with a variety of pristine beaches to choose from.

If you’re staying in the heart of Surfer’s, the beach is just a quick stroll away. But if you prefer something a little quieter for the family, consider heading to Mermaid Beach, Burleigh Heads or Currumbin Beach.

Or if you’re thinking you’d like to avoid the sand and surf, consider the Currumbin Rock Pools. They’re about 12 km further up the Currumbin Valley and the car ride there will have the kids exclaiming at the gorgeous scenery.

2. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Home to hundreds of native Australian animals including kangaroos, lorikeets and Tasmanian devils, kids and parents alike will enjoy exploring the 27 hectares of natural bushland and rainforest.

If you’ve always wanted to cuddle a koala, you can add on the Koala Cuddle and Photo experience with the moment captured by a professional photographer. Or perhaps feeding a crocodile is more your scene.

This and many other add-on experiences can round out a truly memorable visit.

And for future vets, a visit to the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital is a must. Floor to ceiling windows on the back deck give you a prime position to watch the vets treating sick and injured animals.

3. Theme Parks
